Safe Harbor calls churches to become places where women and families facing an unexpected pregnancy know they are safe, loved, and not alone.
We believe every child is created in the image of God and knit together in the womb. Every mother and child is deeply loved, and no one should have to face an unexpected pregnancy alone.
The Church has a unique opportunity to surround women and families with hope, grace, practical support, and the love of Christ—not only during pregnancy, but in the months and years that follow.
What Does a Safe Harbor Church Do?
A Safe Harbor Church commits to:
-
Welcome women facing unexpected pregnancies with compassion, dignity, confidentiality, and grace.
-
Walk alongside mothers and families throughout pregnancy and after birth through encouragement, mentorship, practical help, and connections to trusted community resources.
-
Encourage and equip fathers to lovingly take responsibility, protect, provide, and be present for their children and families.
-
Support women and families considering adoption, walking alongside them with compassion and support throughout the process.
-
Surround foster and adoptive families with prayer, resources, encouragement, and a community willing to help carry the load.
-
Offer hope and healing after abortion, connecting women and men with trusted resources and the forgiveness, healing, restoration, and freedom found in Christ.
Will Your Church Be a Safe Harbor?
Being pro-life is more than believing that every life has value. It means being willing to show up when choosing life feels difficult .
Women in our communities need to know that if they face an unexpected pregnancy, there is a church ready to open its doors, walk beside them, and remind them that they do not have to do this alone.
We are calling on churches to step up and become that place.
Become a Safe Harbor Pro-Life Church and help us build a community where choosing life is met with real, tangible support—where mothers are embraced, fathers are encouraged, families are strengthened, and every child is welcomed as a life created and loved by God.
